Job Summary:
Our expanding logistics operation in Washington, D.C. is looking for a sharp and organized Inventory Control Specialist. This position is critical to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our vast inventory, ensuring our supply chain runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counting, stocktaking, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing best practices to minimize loss and errors. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding rigorous safety standards, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), are essential. Core responsibilities include:
  • Conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records within our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Developing and implementing inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Monitoring stock levels and reporting on inventory accuracy metrics.
  • Identifying and reporting any potential security risks or inventory shrinkage.
  • Ensuring proper organization and placement of inventory within the warehouse.
  • Adhering to all warehouse safety regulations and using required PPE.
  • Collaborating with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure data integrity.
  • Training other staff members on inventory control procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in inventory control, preferably within a logistics or distribution setting. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills are required. The ability to work independently and a commitment to accuracy are key. While not primarily a lifting role, the ability to handle inventory items and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs may be required. Your attention to detail is vital for our logistics.
