Join our team as a Picker/Packer in Des Moines, Iowa, and be a vital part of our efficient order fulfillment process. This role is responsible for accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves and preparing them for shipment to our valued customers. The Picker/Packer will utilize hand-held scanners and follow specific order instructions to ensure the correct products are picked. Following the picking process, you will carefully pack the items, ensuring they are protected during transit. Safety is a key focus, with strict adherence to all warehouse safety protocols, including proper Lifting techniques and the use of PPE. This position offers a dynamic work environment where accuracy, speed, and attention to detail are essential for success in our logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order tickets.
- Use RF scanners and other picking devices to track inventory movements.
- Verify product accuracy and quantities before packing.
- Pack items securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials.
- Prepare orders for shipment by labeling packages correctly.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper Lifting procedures and the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily picking and packing targets.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the warehouse logistics.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a similar warehouse role is beneficial. Ability to perform tasks involving frequent Lifting and standing for extended periods. Must be comfortable using RF scanners and other technology. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Understanding of warehouse safety procedures is essential. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. A commitment to following all safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE. Basic understanding of logistics is a plus.
