We are seeking a proficient Forklift Operator to join our energetic logistics team in the heart of New York City, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to transport materials, load and unload shipments, and manage inventory within our warehouse. Safety is our top priority, and we expect all operators to adhere strictly to safety protocols and utilize the appropriate PPE. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent coordination, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and timely movement of goods, contributing to the overall success of our operations. You will be involved in various aspects of warehouse management, from receiving to dispatch. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive work environment for all our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload delivery trucks with incoming and outgoing freight.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment, ensuring correct items and quantities.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring clear pathways and accessible safety equipment.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock adjustments.
- Strictly follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance operational skills and safety knowledge.
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse supervisors and team members to meet daily operational goals.
- Support overall logistics operations by ensuring efficient material flow.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of verifiable forklift operating experience. Valid forklift certification is required. Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including frequent Lifting of materials up to 50 lbs. Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices in logistics. Must possess strong hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reliability and punctuality are essential. Previous experience with pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment is a plus. A proactive approach to safety and a commitment to a secure workplace.
