Our Richmond, Virginia facility is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to maintain the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse stock. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, from receiving to final dispatch, ensuring that our data reflects our physical reality. Your keen eye for detail and understanding of logistics will be vital in minimizing discrepancies, optimizing stock levels, and improving overall warehouse efficiency. Responsibilities include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory variances, and implementing best practices for stock rotation and organization. You will also be involved in reconciling shipments, managing stock adjustments, and reporting on inventory accuracy metrics. A strong commitment to safety is essential, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to all warehouse safety regulations. This role requires meticulous record-keeping and analytical skills. We are dedicated to fostering a secure and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and stock adjustments.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure accurate recording of all inventory movements (receipts, transfers, shipments).
- Implement and maintain organized warehouse storage and stock rotation systems.
- Reconcile incoming and outgoing shipments against records.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for inventory control.
- Work closely with receiving, picking, and shipping teams to ensure accuracy.
- Report on key inventory metrics and performance indicators.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or logistics.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs when necessary for stock checks.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
