Join our dynamic team in Kansas City, Missouri, as an Inventory Control Specialist! This pivotal role involves maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our extensive inventory. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring inventory control procedures, analyzing stock data, identifying trends, and recommending improvements to optimize stock levels and minimize waste. The ideal candidate possesses excellent analytical skills, a strong understanding of inventory management principles, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the logistics sector. You will work closely with warehouse, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure smooth operations and efficient product flow. This position requires a commitment to accuracy and efficiency. We emphasize a strong commitment to workplace safety , and all employees are expected to adhere to established protocols and utilize appropriate PPE . You will be involved in physical inventory checks, which may include lifting items up to 50 lbs. Your role is critical to our supply chain success, ensuring we have the right products in the right place at the right time. We are looking for an individual who can contribute to continuous improvement and maintain high standards of operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs.
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts.
- Analyze inventory data to identify discrepancies and root causes.
- Implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage stock.
- Maintain inventory management systems.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE .
- Handle tasks involving lifting and moving inventory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage physical aspects of inventory, including lifting .
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and using PPE .
