Our Kansas City, Missouri location is seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our operations team. This role is crucial for the initial intake of goods into our supply chain. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for meticulously unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents against documentation, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of received products. Your role directly impacts inventory management and the subsequent flow of materials within our logistics network. We are looking for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and safety. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and log all incoming shipments.
- Accurately compare received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or overages/shortages.
- Utilize handheld scanners to update inventory records in real-time.
- Organize and prepare received items for stocking or direct distribution.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Adhere to all safety standards, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and audits.
- Perform tasks requiring regular lifting and physical stamina.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or inventory control is a plus. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret shipping documents. Proficiency in using warehouse management systems or similar technology. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Understanding of warehouse safety practices and procedures is essential. Familiarity with general logistics principles is beneficial.
