Solutions Architect - IAM

Iris's direct client, one of the leading Banking and Financial Company, is looking to hire a BSA with good SQL and Wealth background for a long-term opportunity at Toronto, ON (Hybrid Position)

Job Title: Solutions Architect.

Duration: 18 – 24 Months+ (Open ended SoW)

Location: Downtown Toronto, ON (Hybrid Position)

What is the opportunity?

You will be responsible for the definition and delivery of solution and capability level patterns in the IAM Domain for Global Security Services. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reuse of customer and workforce IAM solutions is promoted with the use of patterns.

What will you do?

• Define solutions realizing workforce IAM capabilities, develop and evolve solution designs, demonstrate solutions meet stakeholders’ requirements, and obtain approval on your architectures and designs at the architecture review board.
• Propose, evaluate and recommend solution alternatives that best meet business strategy, requirements, current state environment constraints and alignment to target state architecture.
• Author and extend existing patterns to increase reuse of IAM solutions across the bank and its subsidiaries. Apply your knowledge from the use of architecture and design patterns to improve the reusability of IAM patterns, to proactively address consumer concerns, and to allow IAM patterns to be readily applied to the architectures of consuming systems.
• Participate in and support the execution of RBC architecture governance.

Must-have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical area of study (computer science, mathematics, engineering, etc.) or other BS/BA degree with a concentration in computer science or information systems
• IT experience of 8+ years with 3-5 years in solution architecture experience on large projects, with proven experience in defining and evolving the architectures of solutions with large user bases from project initiation to implementation to support.
• Extensive knowledge of IAM capabilities (e.g., access request and approval, provisioning, SOD policy evaluation and enforcement, access control models (RBAC, ABAC), access certification, authentication, authorization, user/credential/role management, etc.) and their realization and application across workforce user populations.
• Extensive experience with IAM and IAM-adjacent products, tools and technologies: One Identity products, ServiceNow, Apigee, SailPoint IIQ, Radiant Logic FID and ICS, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, etc., allowing the successful candidate to compare products and generalize products into capabilities and patterns
• Experience writing, publishing and maintaining architecture and design patterns over 3+ years. Ability to generalize IAM product features into design patterns driving a high degree of reuse, and capability patterns that are applicable across multiple IAM products.
• Strong verbal communication skills to adeptly discuss and debate conceptual and technical concepts regarding pattern templates and pattern content, and to compel stakeholders to adopt your recommendations
• Strong written communication skills to author patterns that can be widely understood and used by Architects and Engineers across RBC

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with different architecture and design frameworks (e.g., Zachman, TOGAF, ArchiMate, SABSA), techniques (e.g., OO, Top-down, structured analysis, component-based design), and enterprise architecture modeling tools (e.g., PlantUML, Archi, Modelio, Sparx, etc.)
• Diverse solutioning experience in a variety of environments, platforms and channels, including multi-cloud, SaaS, on-prem, off-prem, mainframe, web, mobile, call centre, public clients, etc.
• Good understanding of network infrastructure and layered security controls required to design and deliver secure IAM solutions.
• Architecture and implementation experience in:
• Application architecture and development using patterns to simplify and expedite solution delivery.
• Using a variety of protocols and standards in solutions, including OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, ZKP, FIDO2, NIST 800-63, etc.
