Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver large scale Capital Markets and Banking initiatives at our Toronto location. The ideal candidate must come with a strong background in Project or Program Management within the Financial Services industry and significant hands-on experience in Capital Markets products including trading, risk, settlements, and regulatory reporting. Candidates with a solid IT Consulting background who have managed complex multi stakeholder programs will be strongly preferred. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and risk management skills to drive successful project outcomes across fast paced and technology driven environments.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Capital Markets projects including trading platforms, risk systems, market data integrations, regulatory initiatives, and post trade workflows to ensure alignment with business goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Drive multiple concurrent projects through their full lifecycle from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Partner with Capital Markets business teams, technology groups, quants, vendors, and third party partners to ensure successful project delivery across front office, middle office, and back office functions.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, quality, and risks effectively and ensure proactive mitigation strategies are in place
  • Oversee cloud related initiatives linked to Capital Markets modernization including infrastructure upgrades, platform migration, and application transformation
  • Apply both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and adapt delivery practices to suit specific project needs
  • Ensure high quality documentation, governance, reporting, and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle



Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven experience in Project Management or Program Management within Financial Services
  • Strong expertise in Capital Markets products including equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, or securities settlement
  • At least 2 or 3 successful end to end implementations within Capital Markets or trading system environments
  • Prior experience working in IT Consulting or Technology Consulting firms delivering projects for Capital Markets clients is highly desirable
  • Exposure to Payments or Banking projects will be considered an added advantage
  • Strong experience managing Cloud or platform transformation programs
  • Deep understanding of project financials, cost management, and risk mitigation
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive reporting capabilities
  • Hands on experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
