ABOUT OUR CLIENT AND THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support our client’s after-sales service activities. You will play a strategic role in negotiating and drafting complex contracts, proactively managing risks, and advising internal clients on their business strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Negotiate, draft, and review commercial contracts related to after-sales services (customer support, service agreements, supply contracts).
• Manage claims and collaborate with the internal legal team handling litigation files.
• Advise stakeholders on compliance and contract interpretation, directly impacting client and supplier relationships.
• Develop and implement contract governance processes and provide training to reduce risks.
• Anticipate stakeholder needs and propose proactive solutions.
• Act as an expert on complex and strategic issues.
• Occasional travel required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Member in good standing of a Canadian provincial Bar (ideally Québec) or a U.S. State Bar, with a degree in civil and common law.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in commercial law or commercial litigation.
• Leadership, autonomy, and a strategic mindset to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment.
• Demonstrate sound business judgment and propose practical solutions.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
• Perfect bilingualism (French/English).
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Asset: experience in competition law.
