Metro College of Technology has been a career college registered and regulated under the Ontario Career Colleges Act since 1992. Our programs range from Engineering Design & Technology, Accounting, Payroll Administration, ERP, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Digital Marketing. Additionally the college provides co-op opportunities for our graduates to help them enter the work force.

This is a part-time Data Science Instructor position and it may lead to a full-time one. Currently the teaching activities are conducted online with some in-person exams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare teaching plan and teaching materials
• Deliver instructions to students
• Guide students with mini projects
• Review students' homework and provide feedback to them for error correction
• Mark tests, exams and mini projects
• Provide additional support to slow students
• Participate in instructor training meetings
• Support students with job search

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in data science, data analysis, statistics, or a related field
• strong data science, statistics, or related knowledge and skills
• 4-5 years of work experience as data analyst or data scientist
• Experience in delivering instruction to post-secondary students and success experience in teaching adults is a great asset.
• Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel and good experience with Tableau and Power BI
• Proficiency in programming languages such as VBA, Python, R, SAS, and SQL
• Good experience in Google Analytics 4
• Solid knowledge and skills in machine learning, deep learning, cloud computing, generative AI, and big data analytics
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a cooperative member in a team
• Experience working with remote teams and delivering online instruction is a plus
