Who We Are
Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.
What you’ll do here:
As part of the Project Management Office (PMO) team, you will support the various construction projects in which ONxpress Civils is involved, now set up as Alliances with Metrolinx, in fostering their collaboration processes and knowledge management through practical tasks:
Project deliverables:
Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables among the various Alliances teams (Technical, Construction, Scheduling, Estimating, Procurement, etc.) and in coordination with our counterparts from Metrolinx.
- Support Alliances team with organizing and monitoring their deliverables: timeline, list of tasks, owner
- Provide status and progress reports to project team, management, and client.
- Assist in producing some deliverables (reports, memos, PowerPoint presentations, minutes of meeting) as required.
- Support teams with understating and implementing policies and procedures when preparing our deliverables, ensuring quality assurance, consistency, and client’s minimum satisfaction: liaise with Document Control team, Sharepoint folders’ organization, template utilization…
- Coordinate and support teams in uploading deliverables in Aconex, in relation with Document Control Team
SharePoint documentation management
Act as the owner of SharePoint’s structure and rules:
- Define common rules to be used in folders: folders breakdown, naming, level of confidentiality, and communicate it to users
- Set up a network of key users among the teams
- Work with each Alliance and Team to clean and build relevant folders’ breakdown
- Provide guidance to people regarding use of folders or any new needs
- Grant access as requested for new employees and upon request
- Propose action to improve or accelerate access requests
- Be the point of contact for IT and Metrolinx counterparts
Knowledge management
Based on Leaders’ requests or upon your proposal, contribute to setting up specific information sessions for CJV employees:
- Organize preparation meetings and slide deck preparation with SMEs and Training teams
- Support with logistic aspects
Ad hoc PMO support
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager.
You bring:
- Post secondary education in Civil Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of relevant working experience.
- Experience working in project management, with deliverables, milestones, and quality gates.
- Experience working in complex organizations preferred.
- Strong Interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with any type of counterparts.
- Organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task, service-oriented.
- Thrive on a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an analytical mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft office tools.
