Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Supervisor (Multi-family mid-high rise) to lead field operations on large-scale residential projects. Acting as the primary on-site leader, you will oversee daily construction activities, coordinate trades, enforce safety and quality, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
This role demands a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of building systems, strong organizational skills, and the ability to keep complex projects moving smoothly. You will also provide valuable input during pre-construction, offering insights on sequencing, logistics, and constructibility to help set each project up for success.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction
- Assist with design coordination between architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Support permit applications, zoning compliance, and municipal submissions.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, schedules, RFI. Change Order and submittal logs.
- Issue tender packages, collect trade bids, and assist in procurement.
- Review shop drawings, samples, and RFIs prior to submission.
- Support budgeting and cost tracking in coordination with estimating and accounting teams.
Construction
- Maintain detailed project records, meeting minutes, change orders, and correspondence.
- Track submittals, RFI responses, and ensure timely approvals.
- Assist site teams with document control, schedules, and material tracking.
- Coordinate communication between field staff, consultants, and head office.
- Ensure health & safety documentation and compliance are up to date.
- Support progress draws and assist with invoice verification and coding.
- Monitor construction progress against schedule and budget targets.
- Assist the project manager and site supervisor as needed.
Post-Construction
- Assist with deficiency, PDI tracking and closeout documentation.
- Support handover packages, occupancy permits, and warranty coordination.
- Maintain organized as-built drawings and project archives.
Qualifications
- Experience in Yardi / Yardi Premier Breeze Property Management Systems
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a project coordination or assistant project management role (developer, builder, or GC environment preferred).
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, building codes, and permitting processes in Ontario.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, Procore (or similar project management software).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
