We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the shipping process, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining efficient operations. Your primary duties will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, tracking shipments, and verifying outgoing inventory. A keen eye for detail is crucial to ensure all orders are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched to their destinations. This position is integral to our supply chain and requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track outgoing shipments and provide updates to internal teams and customers.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing inventory against order records.
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all company and industry safety regulations and protocols.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, management, and external partners.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring moderate to heavy Lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, including safety glasses and gloves.
