Lawson Sales is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Controller to lead the financial operations. This role combines hands-on accounting with strategic financial oversight. The successful candidate, partnering with the General Manager, will be pivotal in driving financial integrity, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across the business to optimize performance and growth. The role reports to the General Manager and works closely with the finance team at Reesink Canada Holding.   Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Leadership:
  • Lead the finance function across accounting, controlling, treasury, tax, and compliance.
  • Advise the General Manager on financial strategy, pricing models, and margin optimization.
  • Drive ERP system enhancements and cross-functional process improvements.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term financial improvement initiatives.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare and present financial statements, dashboards, and operational reports.
  • Analyze financial trends, variances, and KPIs to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate year-end audit processes with external auditors and consultants.
  • Deliver monthly financial reports to internal and external parties.
Accounting Operations & Cash Management:
  • Manage full-cycle accounting: A/R, A/P, payroll, journal entries, and GL maintenance.
  • Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation.
  • Prepare and post bank entries, EFT payments, and bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and credit controls.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.
Partnership development:
  • Collaborate with GM, employees, parent companies, and local parties on financial matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with banks, lenders, and financial partners.
  • Lead onboarding and integration of new financial activities and projects.
Process Development & Knowledge Sharing:
  • Refine financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Promote milestone-driven, project-based workflows.
  • Provide training and support to Reesink Canada Holding finance colleagues as needed.
General Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize health, safety, and wellbeing by following procedures, identifying risks, and fostering a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (CPA preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate finance or accounting
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or multi-entity environments is an asset
