We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk for our Indianapolis, Indiana facility. This role is vital for the initial stage of our logistics process, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately documented and stored. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for unloading shipments, inspecting merchandise for damage or discrepancies, and accurately entering data into our inventory system. A high level of organization and attention to detail is crucial. The ideal candidate will be physically capable of handling products, including regular lifting, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient receiving area. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks.
- Inspect goods for any damage or shortages.
- Verify received items against purchase orders or invoices.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label received items appropriately.
- Organize and store received inventory in designated locations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving dock.
- Adhere to all safety standards and procedures.
- Ensure proper utilization of required PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in a receiving or warehouse role preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks involving regular lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of basic warehouse safety principles.
- Strong data entry and organizational skills.
- Dependable and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting.
- Willingness to work in a warehouse environment.
