We are hiring a reliable and efficient Shipping & Receiving Associate for our facility in Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for goods entering and leaving our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include meticulously checking incoming deliveries against order forms, identifying any discrepancies or damages, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. For outgoing shipments, you will be responsible for preparing products, ensuring they are correctly packaged and labeled, and coordinating with freight carriers for timely dispatch. This is a critical function within our **logistics** network, requiring keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. You will also be responsible for operating material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, to move goods efficiently. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is essential for both productivity and **safety**. Adherence to all company **safety** guidelines and the consistent use of required **PPE** is mandatory. This role involves regular **lifting** of items weighing up to 50 lbs. We are looking for individuals who are proactive, possess good communication skills, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Responsibilities:
- Process incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and receipts.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing goods for damages or discrepancies.
- Prepare items for shipment, including proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent shipping and receiving.
- Ensure compliance with all **safety** regulations and **PPE** requirements.
- Support the efficiency of overall **logistics** operations.
- Assist with **lifting** and moving products up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving or general warehouse operations.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to **lift** and move up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of **logistics** principles is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace **safety** and proper **PPE** usage.
