We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is fundamental to our logistics and inventory management processes, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately accounted for and processed efficiently. Your responsibilities will include unloading shipments, inspecting goods for damage, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and entering data into our inventory system. Maintaining a safe work environment is a top priority, and we provide all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce strict safety protocols. This position requires individuals who are detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling tasks involving moderate lifting. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and containers.
- Inspect goods for damage and discrepancies.
- Verify received items against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label received items appropriately.
- Stage received goods for put-away by other warehouse staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist with inventory audits and reconciliation as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or inventory control is preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks involving some lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and inventory software.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Familiarity with logistics processes is a plus.
