We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our facility, ensuring smooth operations and timely fulfillment of orders. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will also be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse. Safety is our top priority, and all Material Handlers must strictly adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. This position requires the ability to perform heavy lifting, often exceeding 50 lbs, and a strong understanding of warehouse logistics and material handling best practices. Previous experience as a Material Handler, forklift operator, or in a similar warehouse role is required. - Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial trucks to move materials.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products from trucks and trailers.
- Store materials in designated locations within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock takes.
- Ensure proper handling and stacking of materials to prevent damage.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory PPE usage.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or demonstrated experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Material Handler in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally more.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and PPE.
- Excellent understanding of logistics and material flow.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
