We are looking for a skilled Reach Truck Operator to join our logistics team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve inventory within our warehouse. Precision, speed, and an unwavering commitment to Safety are paramount. The ideal candidate possesses a valid certification for operating reach trucks and a proven track record of safe operation. You will work closely with inventory management and fulfillment teams to ensure efficient stock rotation and order accuracy. This position requires excellent spatial awareness, good judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution environment. We are dedicated to providing a secure workplace where our operators are well-trained and equipped with the necessary tools to perform their jobs effectively. Your role is critical in maintaining the flow of goods within our facility. Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck safely and efficiently to move palletized loads.
- Stack and retrieve merchandise from high-level racking systems.
- Perform routine pre-operation checks on the reach truck and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Follow traffic and pedestrian safety guidelines within the warehouse.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, including Loading and unloading when necessary.
- Ensure that materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Comply with all Lifting restrictions and guidelines for safe operation.
- Contribute to maintaining an organized and clean work environment.
Requirements:
Valid certification and experience operating a reach truck. Proven ability to work safely and efficiently. Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes confined environment. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning. Must be able to perform occasional Lifting (up to 50 lbs). Good communication skills. Reliability and punctuality. Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to regulations. Familiarity with inventory management principles is a plus.
