We are seeking an experienced Reach Truck Operator to join our advanced logistics facility in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is crucial for the efficient movement and storage of goods within our warehouse. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will be responsible for operating specialized machinery to place and retrieve inventory at high levels, ensuring accurate stock placement and timely order fulfillment. This includes the consistent use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe operating practices. The position involves occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs, though the primary focus is on forklift operation. Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck safely and efficiently to move and stack materials.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Pick and put away inventory at various heights within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including occasional lifting.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and efficiency in our logistics operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift/reach truck operator certification.
- Proven experience operating reach trucks in a warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of safe forklift operation and logistics best practices.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
