We are looking for a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role is vital to our logistics operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and verifying shipment details. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to Safety. You will work closely with the warehouse team to ensure timely dispatch of all orders. Understanding of shipping software and carrier procedures is beneficial. We value precision and reliability in our shipping department. Adherence to all Safety standards and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is essential. This role may involve some physical tasks, including moderate Lifting, and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving within the logistics framework.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders.
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment.
- Maintain shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipping status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle moderate Lifting and perform other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Commitment to Safety and attention to detail.
