We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our critical **logistics** team in New York City, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, stack, and arrange materials within our warehouse facility. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safe and efficient handling of goods, maintaining accurate inventory placement, and supporting overall warehouse operations. This includes transporting raw materials to production areas, moving finished goods to shipping docks, and assisting with the loading and unloading of trucks. Maintaining a clean, organized, and **safe** work environment is paramount. You must strictly adhere to all company **safety** policies and regulations, and consistently wear all required **PPE**. The ability to perform **lifting** of items up to 50 lbs occasionally is also expected, in addition to operating machinery. We are looking for reliable, safety-conscious individuals with a proven track record of operating forklifts in a demanding environment. Excellent spatial awareness and a commitment to teamwork are essential. This is a vital role that requires precision, skill, and a dedication to maintaining high standards of **safety** and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move materials.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated warehouse locations according to established procedures.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock counts and location verification.
- Ensure adherence to all **safety** guidelines and **PPE** requirements.
- Support efficient **logistics** flow and warehouse operations.
- Occasional **lifting** of items up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or **logistics** environment.
- Ability to **lift** and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse **safety** procedures and best practices.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to **safety**.
- Must wear required **PPE** at all times.
