We are seeking an experienced Material Handler to manage the flow of goods within our Houston, Texas facility. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring materials are moved, stored, and organized efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other machinery, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining inventory accuracy. Safety is our top priority, and we provide comprehensive training and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires individuals who are skilled in material handling, possess strong physical stamina, and are comfortable with frequent lifting. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy.
- Organize and maintain inventory storage areas.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper PPE usage.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Minimize damage to materials during handling.
- Support overall warehouse and logistics objectives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified forklift operator or willingness to obtain certification.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 60 lbs) regularly.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and PPE.
- Excellent understanding of logistics and material flow.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must be reliable and possess a strong work ethic.
- Proficiency in operating various warehouse machinery.
