Our state-of-the-art distribution center in Durham, North Carolina is seeking skilled Forklift Operators. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating various types of forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse. This role is critical for maintaining the flow of goods in our logistics operations, ensuring that products are stored, retrieved, and prepared for shipment accurately and on time.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping docks.
- Inspect forklift equipment before and after use, reporting any issues or maintenance needs.
- Safely stack and stage inventory according to warehouse layout and product requirements.
- Assist with inventory counts and ensure accuracy of stock placement.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Collaborate with other warehouse associates and logistics staff to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification (e.g., OSHA).
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently in a warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent situational awareness and a commitment to safety.
- Must be reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
