We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of inventory management systems and best practices. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize loss and improve accuracy. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and ensure product freshness and availability.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, shortages, and overstock situations.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as purchasing and shipping, to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Report on inventory levels, accuracy rates, and potential issues to management.
- Ensure adherence to all Safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow guidelines for safe Lifting and handling of inventory items.
- Contribute to the overall optimization of warehouse logistics and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- Proficiency with WMS and other inventory tracking software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, typically up to 40 pounds.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
