We are looking for a diligent and organized Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all shipments are accurately received, inspected, and processed. Your responsibilities will include verifying delivery manifests against purchase orders, documenting any damages or shortages, and coordinating with vendors and internal departments. A strong commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and safety is paramount. You will play a key part in the upstream logistics process, ensuring that materials are available for production and distribution. We value candidates who are proactive, possess excellent communication skills, and can work effectively in a team environment. Daily tasks will include:
- Receiving and unloading incoming shipments.
- Verifying received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspecting incoming merchandise for damage or shortages.
- Accurately documenting all received items in the WMS.
- Generating receiving reports and resolving discrepancies.
- Tagging and staging incoming inventory for put-away.
- Coordinating with carriers and vendors regarding deliveries.
- Maintaining a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhering to all company safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assisting with other warehouse duties as needed, which might involve some manual lifting.
