We have an immediate opening for a skilled Forklift Operator at our busy warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating various types of forklifts safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will be responsible for ensuring that materials are transported correctly and placed in their designated locations within the warehouse, contributing to the smooth flow of our logistics operations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to all operational guidelines, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. Maintaining the equipment and ensuring a safe workspace are key aspects of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within the warehouse.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and placed stock to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Ensure that all lifting operations are conducted safely and according to company procedures.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Follow all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and forklift operating procedures.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as needed.
- Coordinate with warehouse supervisors and other team members to ensure efficient logistics.
- Accurately document all material movements and tasks performed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Proficiency in operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and material handling.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control systems.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of PPE requirements for forklift operation.
