Position Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic *Radiology Tech* that will perform imaging procedures in a *PAIN MANAGEMENT *surgery center and is responsible for patient safety protocols. This individual functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.
The Pain Management Fluoroscopy Technician operates imaging equipment and performs diagnostic X-rays (if applicable) on patients as ordered by the physician and under the guidance of the physician. Understands aseptic technique and assists in preparing the procedure rooms. Positions patients as needed. Documents duration of radiation, monitors badges, tests equipment weekly, examines protective x-ray aprons for integrity, and documents the results of tests / examinations. Maintains all necessary documentation, logs, equipment reports, etc. related to radiology. Assists with education related to radiology safety.
*Patient Care*
* Operates C-arms
* Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning, and consistently produces high-quality images.
* Understands procedures and in order to anticipate the physician needs
* Understands aseptic technique and follows infection control guidelines
* Demonstrates proficiency in procedure preparation.
* Assembles necessary supplies and positioning aids for procedures according to physician’s preferences.
* Respects patients/families and introduces self to patient
*Safety and Equipment Maintenance:*
* Adequately troubleshoots equipment problems
* Oversees and manages the performance of required maintenance of equipment by adhering to cleaning care, storage, and calibration procedures as directed
* Proficiently practices radiation safety for self, peers, and patient. Wears radiological monitoring devices and adheres to principles of radiation protection
* Maintains established safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
*Communication and Safety:*
* Documents duration of radiation, monitors badges, tests equipment weekly, examines protective x-ray aprons for integrity, and documents the results of tests / examinations.
* Maintains all necessary documentation, uploads images to patient charts, logs, equipment reports, etc. related to radiology.
* Excellent communication skills in all interactions with staff, patients, family, physicians, anesthesiologists and other ancillary departments
* Excellent critical thinking skills, detail oriented, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced critical care environment
* Assists with education related to radiology safety

Required:
1. Associate degree in Radiologic Technology
2. Must be licensed in Nevada as a Licensed Radiology Technician
3. *Minimum of 2 years Pain Management experience*
4. BLS certifications
*5. Must have a minimum of 2 years of Fluoroscopy experience.*

1. Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with patients, patients’ families, physicians and other departments and agencies.
2. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
3. Basic computer skills
4. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing radiologic tests and dealing with patients, families, and physicians often under intense situations.
5. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
7. Ability to hear more than one conversation, prioritize and multitask
8. Knowledge of current trends and developments in the area of practice
9. Ability to work with others in a flexible, cooperative manner.

1. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to assist with moving patients and heavy medical equipment. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel or crouch.
2. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
3. The employee is frequently required to attend to patients and escort them to and from patient care areas. Upper body strength, for moving or helping patients out of bed is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
Medical facilities need to be as clean as possible, and excellent hygiene is required to keep patients clean and safe from sickness and infection.
Has Category 1 risk of exposure to infectious diseases, receives training in hand washing practices, Universal Precautions and has access to personal protective equipment if direct exposure is anticipated. Is subject to interruptions, noise, and odors daily.
