Vancouver Rise FC is an ambitious new professional women's soccer team competing at the highest level in the Northern Super League. Position Overview
The Physiotherapist supports player health, availability, and long-term development at Vancouver Rise FC while working under the direction of the Medical Lead. The role collaborates closely with technical coaching staff, physicians, physical performance coaches, and the wider medical and sports science team across all aspects of injury prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and return to play.
This position contributes to the delivery of elite physical preparation by supporting daily player readiness, providing high quality on field and treatment room care, and aligning rehabilitation and loading strategies with the club's performance framework. The Physiotherapist builds strong relationships with players and staff, promotes high performance behaviours, and supports informed training and match decisions through clear communication and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver day to day physiotherapy services to players including on field injury assessment, treatment, appropriate use of therapeutic modalities, and first aid & emergency care, as required
- Design, implement, and progress individual rehabilitation and injury prevention programs in collaboration with the Medical Lead and physical performance staff.
- Support return to play planning through clear communication, objective criteria, and alignment with technical and performance staff.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up to date player health, injury, and participation records within the club system.
- Attend and contribute to medical, performance department, and first team meetings to support informed decision making and alignment across departments.
- Travel with the team for all away matches and support on field warmups, speed sessions, conditioning work, and post-match recovery sessions.
- Ensure compliance with all NSL and club policies, including medical protocols and game operations requirements.
- Assist the wider medical staff in safeguarding player health and safety across training, matches, and travel.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well organized treatment environment.
- Participate fully in club meetings, activities, community events, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Registered Physiotherapist with First Responder
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Physiotherapist, with a minimum of 3 years in a sports environment. Experience within soccer is preferred
- Certification in Dry Needling or Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) is preferred
- Training in Spinal and Peripheral Joint Manipulation is preferred
- Must successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Check and additional background screening
- In good standing with CHCPBC
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between stadium, training facilities, community sites, and club partners as required.
- Availability to travel with the team, including weekends, evenings, and extended trips during the NSL season.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours aligned with the team schedule (matchdays, training camps, events, playoffs, and league-related commitments).
