We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator with specialized knowledge in chilled water systems, thermal energy storage systems, stainless steel piping, and polypropylene piping systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accurately preparing cost estimates for large-scale mechanical projects, working closely with engineering, operations, and project management teams to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
_*Key Responsibilities*_
* Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
* Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
* Prepare proposals and bid submissions, including value engineering options when applicable.
* Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure accuracy of estimates.
* Identify and analyze potential cost risks and opportunities for savings.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices related to chilled water, thermal storage, stainless steel, and polypropylene piping systems.
* Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as required.
* Assist in project handover to operations teams, ensuring a clear understanding of the bid assumptions and scope.
_*Qualifications*_
* Minimum 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience, preferably in commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
* Strong technical knowledge of chilled water systems, thermal energy storage, stainless steel piping, and polypropylene piping installations.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
* Experience with mechanical estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
* Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines.
* Thermal Storage (Ice Storage) projects
* HDPE, Aquatherm/Nubi Piping, Stainless Steel Piping
* Commercial projects including Schools, Airports, Owner Direct Purchase Government Projects
_*Education*_
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
