Our dynamic logistics hub in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is seeking experienced Forklift Operators to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be essential to the efficient and safe operation of our warehouse, responsible for moving materials, loading and unloading vehicles, and managing inventory. You'll utilize your expertise with various forklift types to ensure seamless operations and contribute to our overall productivity. A thorough understanding of warehouse safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is critical. We emphasize a proactive approach to safety and operational excellence. This position requires physical capability for lifting and operating machinery, contributing to the smooth flow of our logistics network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach) safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload pallets from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport inventory to and from staging areas, racks, and production lines.
- Assist with put-away and retrieval of stock within the warehouse.
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Adhere strictly to all warehouse safety guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear passage.
- Ensure proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Wear and maintain all required PPE, such as safety vests, steel-toed boots, and eye protection.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and management to optimize workflow.
- Support general warehouse duties as assigned.
- Contribute to meeting daily logistics targets and operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Demonstrated experience operating forklifts in a commercial warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of warehouse operations and safety best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial judgment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Understanding of logistics processes and inventory management.
- Commitment to safety and proper PPE usage is mandatory.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
