We are seeking experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Operators to join our dynamic logistics team in Los Angeles, California. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move materials, load and unload trucks, and manage inventory within our warehouse. You will ensure that goods are handled properly, stored correctly, and transported to their designated locations, contributing significantly to the smooth flow of our supply chain operations. A thorough understanding of forklift mechanics, safety procedures, and warehouse operations is essential. We are committed to providing a safe working environment, and strict adherence to safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. This position involves significant physical activity and requires the ability to perform lifting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently to move pallets and materials.
- Load and unload trailers and containers accurately and promptly.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for warehouse operations.
- Ensure proper handling of all products to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Proper use of PPE, including safety shoes, vests, and hard hats when required.
- Support general warehouse duties as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of logistics and inventory control principles.
- Must be committed to safety and proper use of PPE.
- Ability to work flexible hours if needed.
