Join our growing logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Picker/Packer! We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to meticulously gather and prepare customer orders for shipment. This role is fundamental to our warehouse operations, ensuring that products are selected with precision and packaged securely for transit. You will be responsible for reading order forms, locating the correct items within the warehouse, and then carefully packing them to prevent damage. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial for success in this position. Your daily tasks will involve a combination of picking items from shelves and preparing them for dispatch. Ensuring a safe work environment is paramount, and all employees are required to follow strict safety guidelines, including the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order specifications.
- Inspect items for damage before packaging.
- Pack items securely and efficiently for shipping, ensuring product protection.
- Verify order accuracy against shipping labels and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workstation and warehouse environment.
- Assist with inventory control and stock rotation as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in picking and packing or general warehouse work is beneficial.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capability for repetitive Lifting of items.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols, including PPE usage.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
