Our Indianapolis, Indiana facility is looking for an experienced Warehouse Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in overseeing and managing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety. You will be responsible for coordinating staff, managing inventory flow, optimizing space utilization, and ensuring that all logistics processes run smoothly. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, providing guidance and training.
- Oversee the receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and storage strategies.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, health, and safety regulations.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively.
- Coordinate with transportation and other departments to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Generate reports on warehouse performance, inventory, and productivity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or coordination role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in operating various warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of logistics best practices and supply chain management.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring proper use of PPE .
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
