Join our growing team in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as a Shipping & Receiving Associate! This dynamic role is central to our warehouse operations, handling both the inbound and outbound movement of goods. You will be responsible for ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely, meeting all deadlines. Your role is critical in the smooth functioning of our logistics network. We are looking for dedicated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against order documentation.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in contents, labeling, and documentation.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring safe and efficient handling of merchandise.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Keep the shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff and departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar warehouse role.
- Demonstrated ability to perform physical tasks, including regular lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
- Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE and following all safety guidelines.
- Understanding of general logistics operations.
