We are seeking a motivated Material Handler to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be instrumental in the movement and organization of materials within our warehouse and distribution facility. Your primary responsibilities will include loading and unloading materials, transporting them to and from various workstations, and ensuring that inventory is stored correctly and accessible. This position demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. You will operate material handling equipment and must adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The role involves significant lifting and manual dexterity. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas or production lines.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Assist with inventory management by organizing and tracking materials.
- Ensure that materials are stored safely and according to established procedures.
- Receive and process incoming shipments, verifying contents against documentation.
- Prepare materials for shipping, including staging and consolidation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Perform consistent lifting of materials, potentially up to 50 lbs.
- Wear all required PPE throughout the shift to ensure safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment.
- Proficiency in lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Understanding of logistics principles is a plus.
- Must be committed to safety and proper PPE usage.
