Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist for our Columbus, Ohio distribution center. This role is instrumental in guaranteeing the accuracy and completeness of our inventory, which is foundational to our entire logistics operation. You will be responsible for managing stock levels, conducting audits, and implementing strategies to maintain high levels of inventory integrity.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular inventory audits, including cycle counts and physical inventories, ensuring precision.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory records, identifying and addressing root causes.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Develop and implement procedures for effective inventory control and stock rotation.
  • Monitor inventory levels, generate reports on stock status, and recommend adjustments to optimize stock.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure proper storage, handling, and tracking of all items.
  • Uphold stringent safety standards, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Identify and report on slow-moving or obsolete inventory, proposing solutions.
  • Provide essential inventory data to support logistics planning and execution.
  • Occasionally perform lifting and movement of inventory items as required by the role.

Qualifications:
  • Substantial experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a closely related field.
  • Expertise in utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to organizational excellence.
  • Ability to perform standard mathematical calculations with high accuracy.
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the critical role of PPE.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a logistics framework.
  • Must be capable of performing occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs).
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is a significant advantage.
