We are seeking a dedicated and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. Your duties will include preparing shipping labels, verifying package contents against order forms, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this position. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial part in our supply chain operations, ensuring timely delivery to our valued customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be proficient in using shipping software. We prioritize a safe working environment and expect all employees to adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). You will be expected to assist with the occasional need for lifting packages of varying weights. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and documentation.
- Verify order accuracy before dispatch.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records.
- Communicate with internal teams and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management and stock organization as needed.
- Handle customer inquiries related to shipping.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping or a related logistics role is a plus.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting as required by the role.
