Are you ready to be the first point of contact for incoming goods? We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse facility in Austin, Texas. In this critical role, you will manage the process of receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments. Your accuracy and thoroughness will ensure that our inventory levels are correct and that we receive the products we expect. This position involves careful examination of goods against purchase orders, identifying any damages or discrepancies, and properly logging received items into our inventory management system. You will also be responsible for staging incoming materials for put-away by other team members. We emphasize a commitment to efficiency and accuracy in all our logistics operations. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a dedication to maintaining an orderly receiving area are essential. Safety is our top priority, and all employees are required to strictly follow all safety guidelines, including the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or defects.
- Document all receiving activities accurately in the system.
- Tag and label incoming inventory appropriately.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to the Warehouse Manager.
- Organize and maintain the receiving dock area.
- Assist with inventory control procedures.
- Perform regular lifting and moving of received goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or a related field.
- Ability to perform accurate data entry and use inventory software.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and move heavy objects.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
