We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse operations in Columbus, Ohio. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse using various types of forklifts. This includes loading and unloading trucks, stocking inventory, and transporting goods to designated areas. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification and a proven track record of safe operation. You will play a vital role in our Logistics chain, ensuring the timely and accurate movement of products. A strong commitment to Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to conduct pre-operation inspections of your forklift and adhere to all site-specific safety rules. This position involves considerable physical activity, including Lifting up to 50 pounds, though the primary function is operating machinery. You must be adept at navigating crowded warehouse spaces and coordinating with other team members to maintain a smooth workflow. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move and stack merchandise and materials within the warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations and company policies.
- Utilize required PPE at all times while operating equipment.
- Coordinate with other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Demonstrated understanding of forklift Safety procedures.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion and occasional Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Good spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
- Commitment to wearing and maintaining all necessary PPE .
- Experience in Logistics or warehouse operations.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends if required.
