We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Jacksonville, Florida. The Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in the supply chain by ensuring accurate and timely acceptance of all incoming goods. Your primary responsibility will be to unload shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, inspect for damage, and properly record all received inventory into our warehouse management system. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills are essential for maintaining an orderly receiving area. You will be responsible for managing discrepancies, coordinating with vendors and internal departments to resolve any issues, and ensuring that all products meet quality standards before entering the warehouse. Adherence to all safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This role involves significant physical activity, including lifting and moving materials, so a good level of physical fitness is required.
Responsibilities:
- Unload trucks and trailers efficiently and safely.
- Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for any damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory system.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding shipment status and issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment as needed (certification may be required).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Must be able to perform tasks involving lifting up to 50 lbs regularly. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE is paramount in this logistics role.
