We are hiring a Material Handler for our busy warehouse in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is fundamental to the efficient movement of goods and materials throughout our facility. You will be responsible for operating various material handling equipment, organizing inventory, and ensuring that materials are readily available for all stages of our logistics process. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, experienced with material handling equipment, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including significant Lifting. Your role is crucial to maintaining operational flow and supporting our overall supply chain efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse and production floors.
- Organize and stack inventory in designated storage locations.
- Perform daily inspections of equipment and report any maintenance requirements.
- Assist with inventory control procedures, such as cycle counts and stock verification.
- Ensure all materials are properly labeled and stored.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Participate in team efforts to optimize warehouse layout and logistics flow.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification in operating forklifts is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform manual tasks and frequent Lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety protocols and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Familiarity with inventory management and logistics operations.
- Reliability and a strong commitment to safety.
