We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in San Antonio, Texas. This role is integral to our supply chain, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining accurate records. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to timely dispatch are crucial. Safety is a top priority, and all employees are expected to follow safety guidelines, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires excellent administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments by preparing necessary documentation, including shipping labels and bills of lading.
- Verify order accuracy, quantities, and destinations before dispatch.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pick-ups and track shipments.
- Ensure products are packaged securely and appropriately for transit.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments processed.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipping status.
- Operate shipping software and any related equipment.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Assist with other warehouse and logistics tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative or logistics role. High school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with shipping software and processes. Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. Must be able to perform light physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 30 lbs. Knowledge of basic logistics principles. A strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements. Good communication skills.
