Our busy logistics facility in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a reliable Material Handler to manage the flow of goods. This crucial role involves the physical movement, organization, and tracking of materials throughout the warehouse. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring that inventory is stored correctly and accessible. A strong commitment to Safety is paramount, and all employees must adhere strictly to established protocols and utilize provided PPE . This position requires significant physical exertion, including frequent Lifting of heavy items, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Organize and stack inventory in designated locations.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all Safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE .
- Perform heavy Lifting as required, often exceeding 50 lbs.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting.
- Support overall Logistics operations and team goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Ability to perform demanding physical tasks, including frequent Lifting and moving of heavy objects.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and regulations.
- Knowledge of Logistics and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
