We are seeking a diligent Material Handler for our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from storage areas, and ensuring that inventory is accurately stored and managed. You will operate various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, with mandatory adherence to all company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices. This position is vital to our logistics chain, ensuring that goods are handled with care and efficiency from the moment they arrive until they are shipped out.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers using appropriate equipment.
- Transport materials within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and inventory accuracy.
- Pick and stage materials for outgoing shipments.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, promptly reporting any hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Perform routine checks on material handling equipment to ensure operational safety.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned to support the logistics team.
- Practice safe lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks is essential.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 75 lbs, and other physical tasks.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Commitment to adhering to PPE requirements and ensuring a safe working environment in this critical logistics role.
