Head Lifeguard (Part-time)

The Arbutus Club, one of Canada's finest Private Family Clubs, is hiring a Head Lifeguard within the Aquatics Department.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Provide on-deck guard and lesson supervision

· Cover shifts if an Instructor Guard cannot be found

· Swim lesson methods, class management and Instructor development

· Perform on-deck lesson and guard quick check evaluations and meet with Staff to discuss evaluations

· Assist in Club-wide first aid needs (inventory, stocking, and ordering)

· Assist in planning and leading special events and activities in the Aquatics area

· Assist in planning and facilitating in-service training events

· Coordinate and supervise the Ultimate Swims

· Maintain the facility to ensure that the Swimming Pool, Family Change Rooms, offices, storage areas and the Spa are safe and clean

· Assist the Aquatics Manager and Aquatics Assistant Manager with other duties, as assigned.

· Guarding and/or swim instruction, as needed

Requirements & Qualifications

· SI, NLS, Standard First Aid, CPR-C & AED, OFA 1

· LSI, FAI, NLI, and Aquafit are considered an asset

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

· Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with Members and Staff

· Excellent administration, planning, organizing and communication skills

· High-level energy, positive outlook, and service oriented

· Effective leadership and team-building skills
