We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in surgical nursing, with experience in various specialties and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. This role requires proficiency in aseptic techniques, patient assessment, and familiarity with electronic medical record systems. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
*Responsibilities*
* Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
* Assist in the preparation of the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
* Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in their condition.
* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusions and pain management protocols.
* Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment.
* Document all aspects of patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
* Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control protocols.
*Requirements*
* Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
* Experience in an Operating Room setting is highly preferred; familiarity with Level I or Level II trauma centers is a plus.
* Proficient in aseptic technique, IV insertion, medication administration, and patient assessment.
* Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical documentation practices.
* Critical care experience or experience in emergency medicine is advantageous.
* Familiarity with various EMR systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is beneficial.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Preferred skills include but are not limited to: Botulinum toxin treatment, ophthalmology experience, cardiac catheterization, dialysis, suturing skills, acute pain management, hospice & palliative medicine knowledge, geriatrics expertise, behavioral health experience, pediatric nursing skills, infection control practices, specimen collection/processing knowledge, and familiarity with home & community care. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN
Pay: $29.85 - $35.95 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
