*Role Overview*
Nuvion is looking for a highly capable and driven Principal Civil Engineer to lead the delivery of non-infrastructure water sector projects across the UK. This is a strategic technical leadership role, responsible for driving quality, ensuring compliance, and mentoring our engineering team.
You will act as a technical authority and project lead, working closely with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes from feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.
*Key Responsibilities*
· Lead and oversee the civil design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects, from concept through to detailed design.
· Produce technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings to industry standards.
· Undertake calculations and analysis using appropriate design software and tools.
· Coordinate and integrate civil designs with mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines.
· Conduct site visits for inspections, surveys, and technical support during construction.
· Review and check design deliverables prepared by others, providing feedback and mentorship.
· Develop and implement engineering solutions that are cost-effective, buildable, and compliant with UK standards.
· Represent Nuvion in client meetings, design reviews, and technical workshops.
· Support business development through input to proposals, bids, and strategic planning.
· Drive quality assurance, health & safety, and continuous improvement across all design activities.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and innovations in the water sector.
*About You*
· BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
· Chartered Engineer (CEng) with relevant professional body (E.g. ICE, IStructE, CIWEM).
· Minimum 8 years’ experience in the UK water sector.
· Proven track record in delivering non-infrastructure projects.
· Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skill.
· High-level technical competence in civil design, analysis, and construction methodologies
· Excellent understanding of UK design standards, Eurocodes, and water industry regulations.
· Proficient in design tools (e.g., Tekla, TEDDS, STAAD, AutoCAD) and experienced in checking and approving engineering deliverables.
· Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £42,034.02-£81,464.10 per year
