PROJECT COORDINATOR

As the Project Coordinator, your pivotal role involves facilitating successful project execution through coordination, communication, and efficiency. Collaborating with diverse teams, managing resources, and overseeing project logistics, you orchestrate key initiatives with strategic planning and meticulous coordination. Playing a vital role, you ensure seamless project execution from conception to completion, contributing significantly to organizational objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning & Development

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets for electrical distribution projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed projects.

Coordination & Communication

  • Act as a liaison between project teams, contractors, and various departments within the organization.
  • Schedule and lead regular project meetings to review progress, address issues, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to relevant stakeholders.

Resource Management

  • Work closely with resource managers to allocate and manage project resources effectively.
  • Monitor and track resource utilization, adjusting as needed to ensure project timelines are met.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure that projects meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any issues affecting project quality.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with project execution.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on project timelines and budgets.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Generate regular reports for management, highlighting project progress, challenges, and resolutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Attention to detail resulting in work that boasts minimal errors.
  • Recognizes tasks requiring attention and acts preemptively, displaying a sense of urgency.
  • Defines expectations clearly; Informs supervisors about any hindrances encountered; Seeks input; Enhances skills for present and future effectiveness.
  • Takes ownership of assigned tasks and ensures their fulfillment according to set standards.
  • Proactively informs about task completion and ongoing progress to Supervisors; Confirms comprehension of timelines and project scopes before commencement; Identifies and communicates issues with urgency.
  • Collaborates proficiently within a team.
  • Works autonomously, recognizing when assistance is needed.
  • Assumes responsibility for consistently delivering superior-quality work reliably.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma/degree in Engineering, Project Management (or a similar field) or relevant practical background.
  • Solid aptitude in mathematical principles.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office and MS Project applications.
  • Proven experience in project coordination, preferably within the power utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with environmental and regulatory compliance in the energy sector.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is an asset.
