The Systems Administrator is responsible for the planning, implementation and maintenance of the organizations systems infrastructure ensuring optimal performance, security and availability. This role supports both user-facing applications and backend server and network environments and plays a key part in IT operations, project execution and continuous improvement initiatives. The Systems Administrator also serves as an escalation point for complex technical issues and contributes to strategic infrastructure planning. Key Responsibilities Systems & Application Management Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint). Manage device provisioning and compliance using Microsoft Intune. Administer Entra ID (Azure AD) for user provisioning, group management and access controls. Maintain secure MFA and SSO configurations. Support office technologies including mailboxes, printers and scanners.
Server & Infrastructure Operations
Provision, configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers. Participate in cloud infrastructure administration. Collaborate with cybersecurity to implement security best practices and proper incident response. Monitor server health and performance using enterprise tools. Manage service accounts and ensure secure access controls. Perform regular patching updates and vulnerability remediation. Maintain backup and disaster recovery effectiveness; participate in recovery exercises.
Operational Excellence
Ensure timely onboarding/offboarding with appropriate access and devices. Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 support coverage. Drive automation and scripting initiatives (i.e. PowerShell AI). Maintain asset inventory and lifecycle tracking.
User Support & Collaboration
Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues. Collaborate with service desk and support teams for high?quality service delivery.
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. 5 years of experience in systems administration or IT operations.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure AD, Windows / Linux server administration. Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls). Experience with virtualization platforms and cloud IaaS providers. Familiarity with enterprise storage systems and backup / disaster recovery solutions. Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell etc.). Systems administration and network certifications (preferred).
Working Conditions
Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time. Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis. Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone. Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally. Regular and on-time attendance. Must be able to prioritize schedule and complete testing required for multiple applications with overlapping schedules. A certain degree of creativity and flexibility is required. Hours may exceed 40 hours per week. Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
